You’ve Overcome Temptation

Proverbs 4:14-15(ESV)
Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of the evil. 15 Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass it on.

So many people in our world today have been overcome by what we call temptation. Others to were able to overcome it. As children of God, He has given us a powerful mind to overcome what may lead us to do that which may not be godly or unrighteous. Bible says, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander” (Matthew 15:19). As a child of God, don’t entertain such thoughts.

Avoid anything that fills your mind with sinful thoughts and fill it instead with good things. God never promised to remove temptation from us, for even Christ was subject to it. The Bible says that “He was tested in all things, like as we, yet without sin.” There is no good reason why you should seek to escape, for such times of testing have beneficial effects. There is a sense of achievement and assurance that results from victory over temptation that cannot come to us otherwise.

Christ’s promise to the church is that we have overcome the world just as He overcame sin and death( John 16:33). When you fall, rise. Christ is there to help you. Don’t look down on yourself. As Nehemiah told his people to see and build, so must you rise in any situation like that. Jesus is our help in the morning, afternoon evening and each time of the day. He will help you irrespective of where you find yourself. Pick up your cross from today and follow Him. Be blessed!!!

Prayer:
Abba Father, I thank you for this day that you have not condemned me irrespective of my flaws. I ask that you continue to show me your way just as you showed the disciples the way and cause me to stand for in all I do in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
