Scripture: Galatians 5:22-23( ESV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control; against such things, there is no law.
Christ is our example of the way of life God calls us to live in this world. He is also the power by which we live that life. Christ demonstrated before His disciples a life of holiness and obedience. He lived within us through the Holy Spirit to enable us to live a godly life as well.
As we look at the spirit of gentleness, we see how Christ is the embodiment of this attitude. So many occurrences happened in the ministry of Jesus, others doubted the miracles and the things he did but he was not quick to pass judgment upon them( Mathew 11-20).
God hides the truth from those who are wise and reveals Himself to little children. It pleases Him to work this way among men. The wise here are men that through their intelligence have become self-sufficient because of their vast resources. They lack awareness of the need from God and no respond to God when He calls.
Little children recognize their need for God and do not even see their resources as their sources of hope. In our pursuit of God, we must behave and portray the character of little children. Walking in purity and simplicity of heart gives you the freedom to come to God. May your eyes be open henceforth to pursue God in gentleness and walk in the fruit of the spirit!
Prayer:
Abba Father, I pray for divine direction, to walk and pursue you as a little child, and to walk in your ways. Help me to stay faithful to the calling in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
