Scripture: Colossians 3:1(ESV)
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
The believer of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been raised with Him in the resurrection. Apostle Paul, says I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20). Yes, Christ gave Himself to the church.
You have to seek the things that are above. This means you have to pursue and keep on pursuing Christ, what He loves and cherishes at the same time. Apostle Paul taught the church in Corinth to imitate the things he does, even as he also imitates Christ(1 Corinthians 11:1).
Paul knew as part of his calling, he needed to be instrumental in the training of these men. You have the responsibility to daily seek and pursue Jesus and the very things that are significant to Him.
Many people in the world do not understand this truth. You as a believer cannot love what the world loves and fulfill the scriptures. In our pursuit of God, our lifestyle, and the daily things we do must point to the ways of the Father. Let this be a spiritual mindset and a commandment to continue doing. Pursue God every day of your life even as Paul did. Stay blessed!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I’ve learned that I’ve to imitate Christ and seek after the things He loves in my pursuit of You. I pray for the grace to stand firm in this truth. Help me, Father in Jesus’ Name.Amen.
