Scripture: John 14:15(KJV)
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Jesus Christ told his disciples in (John 14:16) “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to be with you forever”. This verse makes it clear that our expression of love for God (which has to do with obeying his commandments) can only be done when the comforter (which is the Holy Ghost) comes upon us.
We expressly show back our love for God when the advocate(comforter) is with us and in us. He makes things so clear to us and helps us to understand the ways of the Father. Understanding God more will increasingly help us to love him without any condition.
Child of God, it is only by the help of the Holy Ghost that one can express the love of God through obedience to His commandments. Without the help of the Holy Ghost, it will be very difficult for us to love God the way we are supposed to. Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the consistent love you show me every day. Your word teaches me that understanding you come as a result of the Holy Spirit’s presence in my life. Help me to understand and love you more in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
