1 Chronicles 13:1(ESV)
David consulted with the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, with every leader.
David in the scriptures has proven to be one of the wisest and God-fearing leaders in Isreal. In every aspect of his leadership, he took time to receive the inspiration of God on whatever decision needed to be taken and never resisted accepting correction when there was the need to do so.
True leaders are not afraid to learn from their mistakes. As a king, David had ultimate authority and power and could have given orders on his own, but daily he sought the counsel of God in order not to over-rely on his intelligence. It is tempting to make unilateral decisions and push through on our own opinions.
Beloved, when we are in charge of a group or championing any course, let us learn to involve our team members in our decision-making. This is not to say we should take the Lord out of it, but effective leaders listen to others in decision-making. True leaders act freely and fairly with others and respect one another. The Lord help you and redefine you in every decision you make.
Be blessed!!!
Prayer:
Thank you ever-living God for making me an effective leader, and guiding me to fully lead your sheep as a shepherd in my journey with you in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
