Mathew 4:19-20(ESV)
And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Immediately they left their nets and followed him.
The act of following a spiritual leader, who may fall under any of the fivefold ministries is to help us function in our calling. When Peter and Andrew met Jesus, the Savior saw them walking outside what God had ordained for their lives. Who you follow, will determine what you become.
Bible says straightway, they followed Jesus to proceed with the basic learning of what God had destined for their lives. One may be tempted to say Peter and Andrew may have been feeding the poor and blessings others with what they make at the end of the day. Why then should they follow Christ?
Beloved, our impact in God’s kingdom is governed by what God sees through us and not what others think of us. Don’t let others decide for you which area you need to function in. Go on your knees and talk to God, He will show you and make a nation out of your service to Him. His Name be praised!!!
Prayer:
Gracious God, your word has made me realize the need to follow you in other to become faithful and diligent in my operation. Help me to become useful to my generation in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
