I Chronicles 3:3(ESV)
Then let us bring again the ark of our God to us, for we did not seek it[a] in the days of Saul.
The account of the moving of the Ark showed that David had accomplished the building of the city of David. The Ark of the Covenant was of everything to the people of Israel. In every aspect of their life, it symbolised their victory, their joy and their peace because the God of their forefathers in every day of their life gave them victory.
The writer of this letter put the moving of the Ark first to highlight David’s spiritual accomplishments and relationship with God. This Ark of Covenant had been in Kiriath-Jearim for many years. Their neglect of the Ark symbolised Israel’s neglect of God.
Beloved, bringing the Ark back to the centre of Israel reflected David’s desire to remind Israel of their true foundation in God. Neglecting those things which remind us of God will cause us to neglect God who made us who we are today. We are living testimonies and products of what Christ has made us. The Lord equip and empower your faith in Him to stand stronger. You’re blessed!!!
Prayer:
Thank you Father for satisfying me with all my needs. Help me to love you unconditionally and lead me to fulfil my purpose in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
