Mathew 4:19-20(ESV)
And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Immediately they left their nets and followed him.
There is always God’s season for His appointment which is designed to help us fulfill our mandate at every given time. Do you know that you can ruin your calling or purpose when you don’t know whether you’re to lead or follow at a particular point in time? You must always know where you belong. In as much as David was a leader in Isreal, He knew at which point to follow and become governed by the Spirit of God. The quality of your leadership is in the quality of your following.
Not all men are called to lead, but everyone is called to follow. Until you come to an understanding of this concept, you might be used to the relevance it carries in following. We are perfected by following and not by leading. We can break boundaries and escape certain errors and mistakes by following. God has given us great and mighty leaders whom we can study their pattern of life that made them succeed in their calling.
Beloved, the disciples of Jesus Christ were able to accomplish their purpose as good leaders because of their listening ears and their ability to heed instructions. Are you a good follower? Learn to heed instructions as you are guided each time by your superiors. This is because every diligent follower will one day become a good leader. Praise the Lord!!!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for the grace you’ve made available for me to serve diligently. Help me to ask with you and remain true to the calling in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
