1 Peter 5:8(ESV)
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
The phrase “to be sober and vigilant”…. is to teach believers to have a clear mind of sobriety and self-control of what the enemy always turns out to do in the life of believers. Anyone who has gone through torture will understand this. God’s purpose for our life is to bring us to a place where we are aligned on His path of righteousness and we understand our calling according to God’s arrangement from Zion.
The enemy scheme to bring destruction not just to the soul of man but to have it negative impact on the flesh of man. Your ability to watch is to help you become vigilant as in warfare. No matter what happens, we may go through persecution but Jesus shall bring healing unto us. When comfort ease and pleasure are put ahead of duty and conviction, progress is always set back.
Beloved, don’t offer yourself for every destruction that is going to come as a result of the devil’s constant and aggressive activity in seeking the sons of God. If you shall be humble under God’s might hand and cast all your anxieties on Him, the enemy shall not devour you, nor shall you be slain by any fearless lion that seeks to feed on prey. Receive the grace of God to stay through to the calling. You’re a blessing!
Prayer:
Loving Father, thank you for exposing every wicked agenda of the enemy to my eyes and helping me to stand on the liberty of your will. Grant me the grace to do exploit in you in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
