1 TIMOTHY 2:1-2(ESV)
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
Leaders are very important in all facets of our environment. Whether for Country, the church, in the community, or at our workplaces. Apostle Paul’s concern for writing to every one of us is for supplication, prayers intercessions, and giving of thanks to be made on behalf of these people.
Part of the reason why it is important to pray for our leaders, especially in the church is because it is the foundation on which every church of God is established. In as much as our Pastors, deacons, and elders may carry much authority in the spirit, that alone should not prevent us from groaning in prayer on their behalf. Christ himself needed His disciples to stay focused and watch and pray as He prayed on the mountains( Mark 14:34-37).
Beloved, as you bear up your leaders in prayer, God can turn their hearts like the rivers of the water irrespective of what the enemy has started doing(Proverbs 21:1). A quiet and peaceable life enables one to have an enjoyable church life in a godly way. May the Spirit of God help all leaders to live a life that expresses God and bears His image and likeness in all things. Praise the Lord!!!
Prayer:
God of Heaven and Earth, thank you for giving us leaders after your own heart. I ask that you turn their heart towards your will for our lives. Help us to stand in prayer for them and make us fruitful in all we do in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
