Colossians 2:13(ESV)
And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses.
In times past, all the living beings God created were dead in spirit because of sin. On account of Christ’s death and his resurrection from the dead, God enlivened us together with His divine life and gave us eternal life so that we also will be called the chosen ones and children of the highest. This act of kindness and mercy came as a result of the love He had for the man in whom He breathed the breath of life and made in His image.
The word of the Lord writes: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead(1 Peter 1:3). God has crucified the old rebellious nature of man and replaced it with a new loving nature. Glory and honor be to His Name forever, because the penalty of sin died with Christ on the cross.
Our opening scripture says we were dead in sin, the word dead is from the Greek word “nekros” which is translated as one that is spiritually dead. God has declared us not guilty but has made us free from all unrighteousness. Today you’re quickened together with Christ and given unto the church His body as an inheritance. May His Name be praised forever. Hallelujah!!!
Prayer:
Thank you Abba Father for making me a vessel of honor while I was spiritually dead to sin. Guide my heart and lead me to always follow after charity in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
