The Pursuit of God – 20

Scripture: Colossians 1:19-20(ESV). For him, all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

Jesus is the embodiment of God, the fullness of God in the form of man. He became God’s means of reconciling man and all things to God. Both physical and spiritual things (those that are temporal and those that are eternal) have been reconciled to man through Christ.

Paul says that it was the father’s pleasure to have all of His fulness live in His son. In Christ, the whole fulness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in Him, who is the head of all rulers and authority.

All of God’s fullness dwells in Christ and we have been filled in Him. Jesus’ fullness has become our own and we are overwhelmed by God’s presence.

In your emptiness and helplessness, do not abandon the fact that He is for you and with you always. May the sense of substance within your emotions never take pleasure in the pursuit of God in your life. Be blessed!!

Prayer:
LORD God, my emotions will not take away the burden of pursuing you in all my days in Jesus Name. Amen.
