1 Timothy 4:8(ESV)
For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
The Bible admonishes that godliness with contentment is great gain. An inward self-sufficiency, as opposed to the lack of the desire or the desire for outward things, is the best gain. A promising life comes with a blessing in the age to come which comes with godliness and self-sufficiency.
This is wisely ordained by God that we may trust in Him for our needs and live by Him to express Him to the world. Paul talks about things that are not of one part of our being but all parties, both physical, psychological, spiritual, temporal and for an eternal purpose.
Beloved, there is a promise of the present life, which is a life in the age to come admonishing us to be seekers of the kingdom of God and its righteouness, for out of it shall you obtain both our earthly and heavenly reward. Set your hope on the Lord and you shall be established. You’re a blessing!!!
Prayer:
Glorious Father, thank you for the establishment of your peace and for teaching me to value goodness because that holds the promise of the present life and also for the life to come. Help me God to walk in all your ways and lead me to be established in thy path in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
