The Pursuit of God – 19

Scripture: Mathew 13:44-46(ESV)
The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy, he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

We have been given a powerful and beautiful picture of who Jesus is in Paul’s letter to the church of Colossae believers in our previous post. Christ Jesus is the image of the invisible God, He is the firstborn of all creation. Jesus is God incarnate, made visible for us and poured out in a receivable form.

For by him, all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him(Colossians 1:16).

Christ is the source of all things in this world and God’s Kingdom. Every invisible thing comes from Him, and all power and authority flow from His throne.

The personhood of Jesus is the glue that holds all things together. He holds nations and kingdoms in His power and binds His people in love. He is sovereign and reigns forever. He’s the head of the body of Christ. Seek and pursue Him in truth and spirit for a greater transformation.

Prayer:
Gracious Father, by your hand you hold all things, I pray that you will hold. me in your might and keep me strong enough to fulfill my mandate in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
