Scripture: Genesis 2:16-17 KJV: "And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
For us to understand the love and pursuit of God, we must know that before we can pursue God, we first have to encounter his love. Yes, we first have to encounter the love of God. From our opening scriptures, we see from the beginning that after the disobedience of man, we were condemned to die eternally.
That is to die forever because that was the commandment of God for us when we were in Adam. When Adam disobeyed God, we all disobeyed God. Any man on earth also became disobedient by nature when Adam disobeyed God by not heeding the commandments.
Beloved, we must understand what sin brought to mankind. Mankind was first subject to punishment for going contrary to God’s command. Bible says Jesus Christ brought a reunion between God and man. He caused all men to encounter the love of God. Without him, we cannot encounter His love.
Anyone who wants to walk with the Lord must first be introduced to the love of Jesus. Be blessed somebody!
Prayer
Father who dwells in an unapproachable light, I’m eternally grateful for loving me and causing me to stand in your kingdom. Help me to always search for you in all I do in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
