Psalm 17:15(ESV)
As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness.
God created us originally. He created us in His own image and likeness; today, by the grace of His Son, He can recreate us in the likeness of His resurrection. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we are recreated and become partakers of His life. We are made partakers of His inheritance and commanders of them all.
The word awake in this context shows how David believed in life after death. Although the belief in the resurrection wasn’t widespread then, he understood what it means to live for the Lord and submit your will according to God’s plan for you. So many people sometimes forget that there is judgment after death.
When David understood what the resurrection meant, He wrote: For you will not leave my soul among the dead, or allow your holy one to rot in the grave. As believers, we must know that God will bring us back to life again to live with him forever. Yes, you will enjoy with Christ in heavenly places. Submit yourself unto Him and He shall make you great.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, remember me to be who you have called me to be. Enlighten me to follow after charity and cause me to move according to your plans for my life in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
