Scripture reading: 1 Timothy 11-12(ESV)
But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
We learned from our devotional yesterday about abiding in and sticking to the truth of God’s word. The scripture above urges the church to stay away from false doctrines which are taught by false teachers. This is because it corrupts the spirit of man.
Apostle Paul’s teaching to his son Timothy is to teach him to stay out of endless genealogies which promote arguments rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith. Satan’s plan of attack has not changed since the beginning of time.
As the enemy seeks to steal from our responsiveness to the Word of God, he seeks to develop within us a mindset of speculations.
Our major growth and the ability to take dominion and make an impact has their root foundation in knowing God by the truth to defend the faith and stay committed to the calling. May you be equipped as you pursue God with all diligence. Be blessed!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to excise dominion over satan and his cohort. Help me to be enlightened in your word and help me to stand stronger for the truth in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
