The Pursuit of God – 14

Colossians 3:4(ESV)
When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Jesus Christ became dead to sin but alive to God and His good works. In the same way, He is commanding us this day to count ourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

We die to sin to live for God because we’ve hoped in the son of man and we believe in Him. Whenever you pursue God and His righteousness, you subject yourself to the supremacy of God.

Apostle Paul says we should put to death what is earthy in us. Which includes sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry(Colossians 3:5).

When Bible says we should put to death what is earthy, we are being encouraged to have nothing to do with the lust of the eyes, the pride of life and the lust of the flesh. All these things do not come from the Father.

Many Christians have been kept in bondage because of this. If you will be able to pursue God without struggle, yearn and subject yourself to the ministry of the Holy Spirit. He will guide and assist you to subject your members to Him without struggle. May the Spirit of God guide you to know Him always. Be blessed!

Prayer:
Thank you, God, for your love,  for caring for me, and for always being there to lead and guide me. Help me to move in your ways, show me your way because you are the way in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
