The Love Of God – 24

Scripture: John 15:4 (ESV) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

The essential meaning of actively abiding in God is the act of receiving and trusting all that God has for us in Christ. If a branch remains attached to the vine in such a way that it is receiving all that the branch has to give, then that is a picture of what John means by believing and trusting in the son of man.

The phrase “except it abides in the vine” is a call and an awakening message to the church and the people worldwide to first of all receive in faith, believe in the words of Jesus Christ, and also trust in him. Without these three things, you are nowhere closer to him and him in you.

“The essential meaning of actively abiding in God is the act of receiving and trusting all that God has for us in Christ”.

The love of God being talked about today was expressed by the Father through Christ who came to dwell among the living. We can conclude that God’s love became flesh and dwelled among the living.

This is the same love God is telling and commanding us to share abroad for many to also receive and encounter him. May you never feel weary but with much excitement preaching this same love to the world. Be blessed somebody!

Prayer:
Abba Father, thank you for loving a servant like me, thank you for redeeming me, and thank you for the life Christ has shown me through you. Help me to also show this same love to the world in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
