1 John 5:13(ESV)
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy, but the testimony of the church is that we have come to a place of belief in the Son of God who showed us, great love while we were yet sinners. In His love, He gave us eternal life. The written words of the scriptures are the assurance to the church of God that Christ is indeed our savior.
Our belief in receiving eternal life is a very fact, the words of the Holy writings are the assurance concerning this fact. They are the deeds of our eternal salvation. By then, we are assured and have the pledge that as long as we believe in the name of the Son of God, we have eternal life. By tasting death for every man, Jesus took over our penalty as He erased our guilt.
Now God can forgive. In a moment of thanksgiving, Paul once exclaimed, “He loved me and gave Himself for me!” Will you repeat these words right now, even as you read? If you do, I believe you will have cause to be thankful too, and that you will experience the love of God in your heart. Try it and see. The Bible teaches that you can be sure that you are saved. Glory to God in the highest. Be blessed!!
Prayer:
Thank you, heavenly Father for giving me eternal life which came as a result of your death on the cross. Bless and make me a viable seed in your kingdom in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
