John 5:2(ESV)
Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, in Aramaic[a] called Bethesda, which has five roofed colonnades.
The sheep Gate signifies the door to the sheepfold of the religion of lawkeeping. Bethesda means house of mercy, signifying that the people who practiced lawkeeping needed the mercy of God because they way impotent, weak, and wretched. Christ came to cover our wretchedness and give us eternal life.
Porticoes signify the shelter of the religion of law-keeping, a shelter like that provided by a sheepfold. Scriptures say Bethesda has five porticoes which signifies responsibility. This means that under the shelter of law-keeping, in the sheepfold of religion, many are blind, unable to see, many who are lame, unable to walk, and many who are withered, lacking the life supply.
In Christ are we made whole, in Him is life, and in his school are we restored and blessed. He came to set the captives free and make us a sign and a wonder. Today, we are found in His presence because of His wonderful act of love and patience towards us. The Lord bless and keep you. May your story be redefined in Christ. You’re a blessing!!!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father have your way in my life, guide and lead me into the path of righteousness. Be my light and guide me in this journey in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
