Philippians 4:6(ESV)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Anxiety is the natural result when our hopes are centered on anything short of God and His will for our lives. When we make anything else our goal, frustration, and defeat are unavoidable. Though we have less to worry about than in previous epochs, we have more worry. Though we have it easier than our progenitors, we have more uneasiness.
Beloved in the Lord, though we have less real cause for anxiety than our predecessors, we are inwardly more anxious. The Bible tells us to pray about everything and thank Him for bringing solutions to our needs. Whatever the situation may be, don’t let the pressures of this world override you. God has never promised to remove all our crises, problems, and hardships.
Sometimes the truly single-minded Christian conflicts with the society around them more than any other person. Society is going in one direction, and Christianity is geared toward what God has destined for us. This brings about friction and conflict. God has promised that amid trouble and conflict, a genuine peace, a sense of assurance and security, that the worldly person never knows shall forever be yours.
Prayer:
Thank you, heavenly Father for your word. Enlighten me and help me not to be anxious about anything. Empower me and show me your way in all I do in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
