God Is Faithful Even When He Seems Slow

2 Peter 3:8(ESV)
But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand year, and a thousand years as one day.

God has never been slow, He always acts according to the promise of time which has been designed for us to see the manifestation of His will in our life. Albert Einstein authorized that the speed of time isn’t a constant, as is the speed of light; it’s relative to a particular frame of reference. For us, that frame of reference is earth’s gravitational force. The higher we are from the earth, the weaker its gravitational pull, and the faster time moves. This reality impacts us all daily.

As Christians, this concept isn’t new. Peter the Apostle wrote, “Do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Peter 3:8). In this life of faith we live, it’s critically important that we learn to trust God’s timing more than our own. Patience in the kingdom is key to trust in the speed of God.

Beloved, since we can’t calculate God’s time, His timing often doesn’t make sense to us. At times we cry, “How long, O Lord?” (Psalm. 13:1). We make it look like God is not showing concern for us, which is not. That’s why after Peter described a God-day as being like a thousand years for us, he went on to say, “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance( 2 Peter 3:9). His love dir us is genuine and He shall remain faithful toward us. Hallelujah!!!

Prayer:
Thank you, heavenly Father, for moving at your speed and timing to accomplish your purpose in my life. Teach me to trust in your timing to accomplish your will in my life in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
