Scripture: 1 John 2:14( ESV) I write to you, Father because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men because you are strong, the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
There is a part of the Christian faith the Church of God must conform to quickly. We have studied the scriptures and have been taught by God. It is abundantly clear that we will never become men or women of God by passively waiting for spiritual growth to happen. God calls us to pursue Him to attain that level.
This portion of the scriptures was intended for the multitudes who flock to churches on Sunday mornings only to return to their lives in the world after they have paid their religious duties.
God issues this call to those who would respond wholeheartedly to Him, to those who would follow determinedly after Him and relentlessly pursue all that God is and all that we can become in Him.
Apostle Paul writes in his epistle to the Thessalonian church: for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses(1 Timothy 6:11-12).
May you receive help from above to run after the things of the Spirit. Be blessed!!!
Prayer:
I thank you heavenly Father for the ultimate sacrifice by which I now stand justified in your presence. I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and I reign and rule with Christ forever in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
